Devlog #2: Weapon Sway, Shooting Overhaul, and Visual Tweaks
1. Weapon Sway
To add more realism and immersion, I implemented weapon sway. Now, the gun moves dynamically as the player looks around, giving it a more natural feel. The subtle motion should help make the gameplay experience more engaging and lifelike. It still needs some fine-tuning, but it's already making a huge difference.
2. Improved Shooting Mechanics
After some trial and error, I revamped how shooting works. Previously, I was dealing with some issues where raycasts weren't accurate due to the gun's rotation. Now, the raycast originates directly from the reticle (or camera), which means shots land where you're aiming! This small but important change ensures more precise targeting, especially during intense encounters.
3. Visual Updates – Gun Color Change
I made some visual changes to the gun model, specifically adjusting the color to better fit the overall atmosphere of the game. The new color gives the gun a more gritty, battle-worn appearance, which I think works well for the vibe I’m going for.
